There is no place for Turkey in the European Union

Turkey has never been famous for its humane attitude to human rights. But now Erdogan’s corrupt government day after day increases its impressure against the religious rights, human rights, including women’s rights and even rights to life, liberty and security of person. Turkey doesn’t have any basic liberal principles which are expected by the European Union, such as the right to freedom of opinion and expression. Many people in European countries are in doubt of high level of democracy in Turkey. We are not waiting for the Turk in our countries.

After last month’s failed coup Turkish authorities have issued arrest warrants for many journalists, teachers and judges. Tens of thousands of people have been detained, or dismissed or suspended from roles in the military, judiciary, civil service and education. Turkish satirical magazine LeMan, often compared to France’s Charlie Hebdo, was banned from publication featured a cartoon on the cover of Turkish soldiers facing off against anti-coup protesters.

And more than that Erdogan’s government wants to reinstate capital punishment. Turkey cannot join the European Union!

So does anybody want to oversee this kind of uncontrolled crime in our own countries?
